Noss Machine & Coolheads.

so.. are they the same..because i have coolheads, that i got awhile ago, and i have never heard of noss machine or noss heads. i really want to know.. difference in speed change>? i want to know. thanks.. :yelrotflmao:

They aren't the same.The pro-design requires different studs for the cylinders to mount the head.They do use the same domes if I'm not mistaken.I have the pro-design on mine and just installed a NOSS on my wife's banshee.No problems with either yet.

I think some of the noss heads can use stock studs and the cool head needs extended ones. They both do the same thing, and both look alike. I've always used the cool head, never even tried a noss head. No sense is getting rid of something that works fine.

I 've used the noss heads and they've work out great for me

In theory they are the same head. They both allow for interchangable domes that allow you to alter the compression. NOSS is more or less a brand name of a type of "Coolhead", but I would stop the comparisons at that point. The engineering in the NOSS head is second to none in my opinion. Also, as mentioned you can run the stock head studs with the NOSS (a big time saver/convenience), plus you can downplay the presence by going with a Black Anodized head (polished is overdone in my opinion). After I put my head on, several people looked at my bike for a good bit of time before even realizing I had an aftermarket head.
