should i bore to a 370cc or stay stock. and what do i tell the dudes at the machine shop to do

Im not sure if you can bore it out to a 370, but if you can its not good for it. I wouldent bore for power because if you bore it all the way out the the last bore and you blow your engine up, you will have to buy new cylinders. Get a 5mm long rod stroker and a port job and you will be close to 370cc.

to have a 370 on stock cylinders you need to get them bored .080 over. This would possibly be the dumbest mod you can ever make becasue you will see very very little diffrence between a stock bore and a 370 if you just get it bored out. Only get your cylinders bored when you need to rebuild, thats the whole point of it. If you really want it done just ask them bore your cylinders .080 over.

BTW, .080 over is the biggest you can bore your cylinders to, if you ever have to rebuild it you will need to have it resleaved which is very $$$$$ compared to a regular bore job

i agree ,don't bore your cylinders unless they need bored.boring does nothing as far as any power gain.also a 370 is 66mm bore with a 54mm or stock stroke.i have seen stock cylinders bored to .100 over but it is not reccomened .the more you bore ,the thinner your cylinder walls get which increases the motor tempreture when its running.

If you are looking for more power, stroke it.

The reason: Horsepower is the rate at which torque can be applied. If you can't apply the same amount of torque faster, then deliver more torque at the same speed. You get more torque from a longer lever arm.
