JWall Posted June 21, 2006 Report Posted June 21, 2006 Well yesterday I rejjetted my banshee. All I have done is K&N filter, with snorkel removed and it seems to be overrevving in the low gears. I forgot to adjust the airscrew and wondering if this simple adjustment will help fix the problem. The plugs seem to be perfect after throwing in the 230 mains and was just wondering if the airscrew will help fix this slight overrev. Thanks! Quote
Rustbag Posted June 21, 2006 Report Posted June 21, 2006 Worth a try. If it's lean on bottom it'll do that. Give the air screws a 1/2 turn in. Quote
dajogejr Posted June 21, 2006 Report Posted June 21, 2006 ??? Airscrew has nothing to do with top end rev...that's all main! Airscrew is idle to about 1/8 throttle or so... Quote
JWall Posted June 21, 2006 Author Report Posted June 21, 2006 ??? Airscrew has nothing to do with top end rev...that's all main! Airscrew is idle to about 1/8 throttle or so... Its revving up at the the high revs of the first and second gear any ideas? Should I jump up the jet sizes to 240s? Quote
dajogejr Posted June 21, 2006 Report Posted June 21, 2006 Um...got it... Is it possible your clutch is slipping? Try taking off in second...see if it kinda lurches, etc... An air filter and snorkel removal will hardly be noticeable at all...and will only require 2 to 3 main sizes AT most, taking into consideration it was jetted correctly before... Quote

I bought it brand new and it had 200 mains so I doono? Quote
dajogejr Posted June 21, 2006 Report Posted June 21, 2006 (edited) First, what's your temps and elevation? Second...brand new, as in just got it recently new...or, bought it brand new a few years ago...? 200 is stock, your dealer may or may not put in 210's depending on your locale... Hilarious Posted June 21, 2006 Report Posted June 21, 2006 I had 240 mains, air screws 1.5 turns out when I was all stock with clamp on K&N with snorkle removed. Try that. :thumb: You havent messed around with your needles have you. In other words, taken the tops of the carbs off? Choke crossover tube still connected between the carbs? Quote

Rustbag Posted June 23, 2006 Report Posted June 23, 2006 oops I misunderstood. thought he meant revving at idle. I'll get my eyes checked. :baseball_bat: Quote
