2ksteeda Posted June 13, 2006 Report Posted June 13, 2006 I need some suggestions on aftermarket suspension for my 05. I ride mostly woods, trails and MX. I'm pretty heavy at 215lbs and need something to smooth out the bumps and big rocks. Should I go +1/+2 on the A-arms and if so what brand, what brand shocks? Where is the cheapest place to get a front suspension kit? My bike is all stock except modded airbox, toomey T6 and re-jetted, and Holeshot HD's. I am also looking for motor suggestions once the suspension is done. Would it be better to go ported factory jugs, or just go all out and get a cub? Quote
watkins Posted June 14, 2006 Report Posted June 14, 2006 Well.. first off as far as suspension goes it really depends on your budget... Elka & TCS make great shocks but they are also very expensive. Works suspension is an upgrade from stock, but no all that great but its cheaper than an Elka setup. As far as motor mods go, I think a Cub motor would be overkill for trail/woods riding. I should send you jugs to a good builder and get a Wood/Trail port done if thats the kind of riding you are doing. I am sure someone else will chime in as well. Just my $0.02. Quote

I did some ebay checking and saw some roll design/elka combo's for over 2k. Thats a little too pricey for me, but I guess my main goal is more suspension travel. Once I get the bike to ride good I'll try to add some power. I was thinking of adding some v-force reeds next and maybe a timing advance. Quote
