In the first three gears its not really noticeable because it revs out so fast but in the top gears it bogs pretty bad in the middle, if the tires are spinning it seems ok but when its under a load like on pavement it bogs until it hits higher rpms. Whats my problem i am guessing needle, but is it to rich or to lean?

Realistically, it could be either. You can have both a lean bog or a rich bog. For starters I guess, what is your current jetting setup, pilots, needle/clip setting and mains? Midrange bogs are generally to do with the needle adjustment, but you have to realize that your main and pilot will have a residual effect on this setting. For instance, if you jump up 4 main sizes, your midrange is also now richer because the needle is sitting in a larger jet. The hard part about diagnosis this is that you usually read this by the seat of the pants, and or sound. Rich bog obviously is similar to pulling the choke out kinda falls on its face, where a lean bog is more a lack of the bike wanting to accelerate, a hesitation.

Im experiecing something like this also.Mine is not a bog or hesitation its very hard to explain,it pulls hard from the bottom but like u say when i get in 4th or above the mid is strong but its long so long that when you have almost decided its time to shift the top hits so hard your like dam whered that come from. But the top is so strong that it makes me think the mid may be weak. This is the setup im running trinity pipes stagelv,k&n pods 340main,27.5 pilot airscrew 1.5 out with stock needles on 4th clip from top, noss head 18cc domes at 180psi.Im goig to try some toomey needles and if that dont work im going to try some 19 or 20 cc domes to see if that high compression is slowing my rev down.Im also running 15 41 gears but it totes the front thourgh 3rd with nothing but gas so I dont think its the gearing.Any susgestions would be apprecitated.

what he said.

well it seems like it is rich to me because when i am on hard pack dort road it bogs but if you hit some soft stuff it will rev out like it is getting to much fuel.

Whats your gearing?

I am at a 148 main 42 pilot and a cel needle on the leanest clip. I was messing with it today and on the leanest clip it got a lot better but it still needs to be leaner, what is the needle leaner than a cel? I am gonna go to a 150 main because the plus was a little lighter than i like but the pilot is to fat still so I am going tommorrow to get some smaller pilots. It still bogs but it got better each time i moved the clip up, it was in the middle and i am on the highest one now. My gearing is 16/41

Sorry I don't have much of any experience with the airstrykers as far as which needle to go to. But you've got the general idea at least. Those of us who have got the jetting pretty good, most it isn't because we magically know what will work, it's because we start out and then make minor changes and see how it plays out. Go slightly leaner on the needle... hey that helped, maybe one clip leaner, nope worse. It's a science and also not, all at the same time.
