well i am not sure on stock carbs but I don't know why it would be any different but on mine Andy at GRR drilled and tapped in a new main on the outside of the carb towards the top that acts as another main when you are at full throttle so you can get that much more needed fuel. (cause alcohol burns so much faster). he also drilled out my 142 mains to a .098 thousands hole and put in alot bigger needle(not sure of the kind), THen i had to run a pingel valve to allow that much more fuel flow and lastly drill my gas tank cap vent hole as big as it would go and take out all the little stuff inside of it for better fuel flow.

I know you said proffessional and i am far from that so you could just give Andy a call and he will fill you in on everything.

the stock carbs can be ran without a powerjet, thats basically what grr was adding with the jets in the side of the carbs your describing... i wouldnt run them like that for 20 bucks each you can get a mikuni power jet assymbly and it will be easier to tune the carb without worry of stripping out the hole for that jet..

depending on the motor the stock carbs and pj34's can be set up without powerjets, i dont remember exactly if you have to drill out the fuel inlet any, the dump tube/main jets are going to be drilled.. without the powerjets they will be drilled a little bigger than with them (for the added flow).. with my stockers the mains were drilled so you can see the threads on the inside of the jets (without power jets) so you can get an idea of how big they would be..

id have to look at a stock carb again to remember if the fuel inlet needs to be opened up..

also to be on the safe side doing this i would get a pingel.. the stock petcock may work with the stock carbs for the shorter distance runs but for longer hauls i wouldnt feel safe with it..

my first set didnt have power jets either. but I dont remember what size the dump tube was drilled to, the jets differed. I did end up running a pingel, but didnt have the inlet drilled any. they worked flawlessy with the 350 I had, untill I ported it.

Maybe I should go dig around on PS, seems do be alot of good information over there.
