Flyin V Posted May 28, 2006 Report Posted May 28, 2006 Curious if anyone knows what a shee engine weighs. I am looking to buiild a hybrid, and want to start with a descent light chassis. I was looking at an aluminum Cannondale chassis, but heard it was right at 300 lbs before the engine. TIA Glenn Quote
Bigairee Posted May 28, 2006 Report Posted May 28, 2006 I've only shipped one. It was 85 pounds. A good guess would be between 75 and 80. Quote
csrmel Posted May 29, 2006 Report Posted May 29, 2006 is this the weight of a fully dressed engine complete with airbox, radiator, hoses etc, ? i mean the rad is part of the engine. the engine cant run without it. likewise the carbs, airbox, filters, etc... Quote
[email protected] Posted May 29, 2006 Report Posted May 29, 2006 (edited) 76lbs packaged in a crate Edited May 29, 2006 by [email protected] Quote
racer Posted May 29, 2006 Report Posted May 29, 2006 no those would be for the motor only. for the whole engine package it would probably exceed 100 lbs. Quote
Flyin V Posted May 29, 2006 Author Report Posted May 29, 2006 Yeah, I would probably be interested in a complete weight. with Carbs, filters, and exhaust. Anyone know what the chassis on a shee weighs? Quote
Animalman294 Posted May 29, 2006 Report Posted May 29, 2006 I just sent my engine out to Jeff in Kansas from California in a plywood crate and it weighed 105.85 pounds. The crate was made out of 1/4 inch plywood with 2x2 supports. I would guess the motor was about 85 pounds, because I also sent a new head with it. Hope this helps............... Quote
rocketboy Posted May 30, 2006 Report Posted May 30, 2006 she engine with carbs and intake manifold bolted up to it is 72lbs Quote
