I'm not sure if my idle is set too low, but I'm running a stock '02 banshee. Last weekend at the dunes, I noticed that if I barely push in the the thumb throttle, my bike dies.

Do they all do this or could it be something with a dirty air filter or idle set too low?

This happens without any choke, after it's been warmed up (not sure if it happens when it's cold/hasn't been ran).

thanks

Sounds like the idle is set to low. When you say stock, I'm guessing the tors are still on the carbs. Look at your manual and it will show you how to adjust the idle speed (two big screws on top of the tors) They must be adjusted the same amount. I would also check the air cleaner.

If you have the tors removed and have the aftermarket idle screws on the carbs, turn them all the way in just in till they make contact. turn them out 1 1/2 turns lock the nut down and go from there.

One more thing, with the air cleaner removed look into both carbs and make sure that both slides are moving at the same time (one not befor the other)

Hope this helps

Thanks for the reply, I looked into my carbs through the air box and noticed the left one was stuck open. Upon further investigation, I found out the cable was almost snapped. I purchased a TORS elimination kit from RockyMountainATV.com and everything works fine now!

if your not riding in the mud or water, ditch the airbox and put on some k&n pods. makes it so much easier to work on the carbs.my .02
