mybanshees2fast4u Posted May 4, 2006 Report Posted May 4, 2006 I have my banshee motor apart because a piston came apart and chewed up that side of the head. How should i clean up all the cuts and chips from the pieces beating around, i was thinking scotchbrite it on a die grinder and than glass bead the port to smooth it back out. I figure while its apart i might as well mill it but how much and still run pump gas? I was thinking take about .020 off. I have a adjust. stator so i was gonna also adavnce the timing +4. Can i take .020 off and run +4 on pump gas, and will have to use a yamaha genuine head gasket on the milled head or can i still run the one outta the wiseco kit. Quote

mybanshees2fast4u Posted May 9, 2006 Author Report Posted May 9, 2006 don't bother- get a noss head. you'll never get a perfect surface or dome shape and modifying it will effect cooling and compression. besides you shouldn't make any changes to one side and not do the other exactly the same. if the head is banged up, forget the milling and grinding the dome, get a noss head and domes. i think the concensus on here is anything over 160 requires a race gas mix or full race gas. don't reuse any gaskets - don't use the wiseco gasket : get a noss head - it seals up with rubber o-rings by the way, did i mention that you should get a noss head?? 511791[/snapback] sure just send me the $300 to set it up Quote
