i have a stock shee that could use a new set of rings and pistons. should i go with a bigger piston and get my juggs bored. or should i stay with the stock size. and if i should bore them what is a good size to go to on a stock motor.

Just take your cyl. to a shop and they will tell you,if they can just hone them or need to bore to the next size.what ever size you go to you will not notice any power gains and be just fine on a stock motor..Some people go up .50 and think they have a 400cc motor....... :rotflmao:

I agree, don't bore unless you have too!

Well, you would gain a little, but it would be VERY little, you wouldn't even feel it. If you only bore one or two sizes up it is usually just to remove taper or scaring from the cylinder walls NOT to gain power. Now if you went with a "big bore" kit, that's a whole differant story.

if i went with a big bore kit would i have to weld my crank and do a bunch of other mods like reeds cool head etc.

i would suggest getting it honed (bored only if needed) and new rings/pistons.

then look into pipes, reeds, cool head etc before a big bore kit. i wouldn't get a big bore kit without those things first to let it really open things up.

stock bore, reeds and head wouldn't require getting the crank welded, but i would imagine that a big bore kit definitely would. B)
