tithead Posted April 17, 2006 Report Posted April 17, 2006 racing was a shitter for me yesterday. my conection to my negative side of my battery snapped on the 450. i was up against the new ltz450`s. there was quite a few there. for the first impressions of seeing them i thought they looked impressive! but when it came to the crunch, and with my 450 not running that well i was not impressed at all with them. i had the feeling that there is not much power in them but, they dont use the full 100% provided. when i was watching the pro championship class the top of the feild were mostly yamaha, honda and a polaris took second over all.... the suzuki`s were in the lower half of the feild. IMO, i wouldnt buy one for racing. anyone else raced against them in mx??? Quote
sp1tekiller Posted April 17, 2006 Report Posted April 17, 2006 I get the impression that they are SEVERLY choked up in stock to close to stock form. Quote
rebelbanshee2 Posted April 17, 2006 Report Posted April 17, 2006 the exaust tip is probably smaller than some minis. I guess with the tip out and yosh's $40 "cherry bomb" they are just as fast as anything. I wonder who the first company will be to make a quad that isnt corked up? Quote

The stock trim sucks ass over all other stock trim quads. It is fun after some mods, it should of came out with this stuff, but we know that aftermarket money is a bussiness too Quote
westexgt Posted April 18, 2006 Report Posted April 18, 2006 The way I look at it, you can buy a yamaha add shocks and a-arms, or you can buy a suzuki and buy a bunch of mods for the motor. I personally like the yamaha's looks and performance better. And with aftermarket shocks and A-arms you should put that Suzuki to rest in handling and performance. Kevin Quote
bansheefreestyler Posted April 18, 2006 Report Posted April 18, 2006 i raced one a while back in arenacross and it was in last or second to last. Quote
Felonious_Monk Posted April 18, 2006 Report Posted April 18, 2006 I own the new suzuki, as well as a mildly modded shee. As far as being faster than the shee, no. Will it keep up with a brand new yfz?? Yes. My ltr has the cherry bomb, the yfz has lid removed and baffle out. Dead even, time after time. Will it keep up with an 06 trx with the full hrc kit?? No......the trx has a higher rev limit, and a full header and cam.......would the ltr keep up with the same mods?? probably.....well just have to wait and see. That is all in open fields. From drag racing to laps around the edges. The bansee beats all of them, but the trx with hrc kit gives it a little bit of a run. On a track is a different story. The handling is top notch no doubt. Where I could do 4-5 laps on the banshee on our track, I can now do 10-12 with the new suzuki. NO arm pump. Just point and shoot. Predictable, planted and stable. Anyone that saw one coming in last on the track must have been watching a poor rider. The yfz and trx do not compare in stock form at all suspension wise. The banshee is definitely one of a kind!!! But, to be honest, hasnt seen much time out since the suzuki arrived. Quote

NEVER LEFT THE PITS! the top 3 from sunday... polaris 500, yfz450, yfz450. Quote
