Wallrat Posted April 10, 2006 Report Posted April 10, 2006 I'll see if I can find a picture online. If not I'll snap one of mine tonight. Basically its a better design. The longer style should give you a better mixture as well as help out the top end a little. Quote
Wallrat Posted April 11, 2006 Report Posted April 11, 2006 Ok so its a camera phone picture. Looked okay on the phone but looks like hell on this shitty work computer. Is that good enough? Quote
Wallrat Posted April 12, 2006 Report Posted April 12, 2006 (edited) No problem. If you want to make your own its not too difficult. The tube is 1.5" OD, I think I used 1/16" wall or thereabouts. The part that bolts up to the cylinders is just 1/4" plate. I drilled a 1.5" hole into the center of these and then corrected the shape with a rotary file after everything was welded together. Its kinda a pain in the ass fitting everything up even with a jig but its not impossible. Cut 45 degrees on each end of the V pieces - they're offset so you have to eyeball it. Once you get the 2 tubes welded up in a 'V' shape, just cut the tip of the V off and grind it down until a piece of the 1.5" tube fits against the hole nicely. Just remember you need to cut the tip of the V at an angle so that the tube going to the carb is angled down slightly. Just tack it and then hold it up to the bike and eyeball what looks right. Ideally the carb will sit almost level. Mine is tilting maybe 5-10 degrees downwards in the front. Once everything is welded up take a die grinder with a rotary file on it and clean up the insides of the 1/4 plate. Edited April 12, 2006 by Wallrat Quote
