So heres my situation.i have to go to michigan to move my ex,son and here other 2 kids back here to NH.to get to MI i have to drive throught canada.i had a dwi 6 years ago and i heard that you cant cross if you have a dwi.is this true?any help will be great

They screen for anyone with a criminal record.as for dwi, i'm not sure if there is a limitation on that one or not. call Canadian Customs and Immigration and find out.1-800-461-9999. web site- www.cbsa-asfc.gc.ca

My good friend tried last yr to get acrossed the border to canada last summer after having a DWI. Its been about 3 yrs since he had one and they wouldnt let him across.

i don`t know how far back they check.but i got in and out of canada no problem back in oct.no dui, but i had a mess of legal problems 13 years ago.

as much as i hate to admit , these border guards really have thier shit together. they have really cracked down alot over the last few years.so heres a few tips to make things go a little smoother: they run your plate# and do an ID check so don't try to bullshit them, they know who you are and if you have a record (be honest with them). when they ask you a question don't hesitate when you give your answer. they think you are trying to a hide something when you don't answer quickly. and i know you guys like your guns down there, but whatever you do, don't try and take them accross the border with you. it's never a good thing when you get caught with one.
