My brother just bought a blaster for his' son.He was told it was an 04 but it has the old front end.If I'm not mistaken,they changed up the front end in 03.Anyone have a manual that tell the vin #'s for all the year models or know where I can find it on the internet?

Well if it's the old front end. U got lyed to. U can change the style front end but not with the 03 04 05 and 06 plastic. What color is it and how much u pay for it.

for 03 and newer the big tell tale is the disc front brakes and a pointy nose piece. other than that they're pretty much unchanged since they where released.

It's blue.I know that doesn't help.Not exactly sure what he paid.The bike was extremely clean.Looked like it was taken care of very well. :shrugani:

The hoods can be swapped around so that won't tell you anything..The quick way is to see if it has disk's..Also here is the vin trick for ya race :D

The year is the tenth letter/number of the VIN.

1988 = J

89 = K

90 = L

91 = M

92 = N

93 = P

94 = R

95 = S

96 = T

97 = V

98 = W

99 = X

2000 = Y

2001 = 1

2002 = 2

2003 = 3

2004 = 4

2005 = 5

2006 = 6

Edit: Also here is you a link to a complete online clymers manual for the blaster..Comes in handy for wiring guides, torque specs and all kinds of grovvy stuff

a blaster is almost like a banshee in that it really doesn't mattter what year they are its basicly the same thing from the first to the last years. As long as it runs good I wouldn't worry about the year..... unless your selling it to somebody who doesn't know this fact and actually cares about the year :shootself:
