hows it going guys...

im recently in a trade off and trying to sell my 300ex to buy my good friends shee...its very nice...leager front end chormed out engine the hole 14 yards. anyway, im a four stroke kinda guy(as of right now) and i want to no if banshees are reliable enough to depend on in the woods and out on the track. iv just gotten the impression over the years that 2 strokes are constantly messing up and are hard to maintain half the time. aloso this banshee has a cv 2-1 card kit from trinity and was bored out, he put sleeves in it becuase he said it takes away the reliablility of the meachine, since it was already bored out does this mean its already lost its long term life? any help would be great guys. thanks in advace.

Two strokes aren't any harder to maintain than four strokes. They're actually easier to maintain, or at least rebuild, because there's not much to them. Two strokes are more temper mental when it comes to jetting, but that 2 into 1 carb is going to make things A LOT easier on you. What was your buddy saying "takes away the reliability of the machine"? More than likely, he had to bore past .80 over and in that case he would be right. The more you bore the stock cylinders, the hotter it's going to run (because the cylinder walls are thinner). So he had the stock jugs re-sleeved. If you were to ask me, you plan on riding woods and I'm assuming MX tracks. So if you're already a four stroke guy, look into the new four strokes. But I've had no problems at all in the woods or the track that I wouldn't have had with a 4-stroke.

I ride woods mainly...

The banshee's only been towed back once that was when I spun a ring...

Banshee's have a over heating problem for the factory but with a cool head and high flow water pump I have never had a problem with that again!

I take her throw mud water and other crap.. Every so often the water get to it cuz I got the lid removed off the airbox..

I have only rejetted it once and that was when I put on the toomeys over 3 years ago... I did as toomey said.

I have been to California, up in the hills of Oklahoma and the dunes at Lil Sahara.

With 4 strokes you gotta keep the valves tight, worry about the timing chain tension....

All and all it comes down to the general maintance and I say 2-stroke are easier... As long as jetting is good there isn't much adjustment to make to them...

All though it is nice pulling up to a gas pump and topping the tank off on a 4 stroke.... I often wish there was 2 stroke mix on pump, makes it hard to go run around town knowing I only gots 3 gallons to run if need be... B)

(not that I would run) :rotflmao:
