sounds like that stop is bent or broke off.look at the bottom of the steering stem there is a stop welded on there to keep the steering from turning to far .if it is bent or missing i'd get it fixed if i were you.

Follow your tie rods in to where they connect to the steering stem. There's a bearing there and the frame has a 3/8" tab welded on towards the front of the bike. The stem has 2 "ears" that stick out and hit this tab when you turn too sharp. Your tab is either bent to shit or worn down. If its bent, get a chunk of 3/4 steel pipe and a BFH. Slide the pipe in from the front near the bumper until it rests on that tab. Then beat the shit outta the pipe w/ the BFH to bend the tab back in place. Re-weld it back in place. Might be a good idea to gusset it as well.
