fun_on_the_sand Posted March 21, 2006 Report Posted March 21, 2006 I am installing new carbs and extended swing arm, so, I need to remove the TORS and the parking brake. What electrical changes do I need to make? what do I do with the wiring from the TORS and from the parking brake? Quote
batoutofshell Posted March 21, 2006 Report Posted March 21, 2006 Cut the wires at the ignition for the parking brake and twist and tape them together, cut the wires where the connectors for the tors meet the wire harness and twist and tape them together.Under the gas tank on the left side as sitting on the shee unplug and remove the black tors control box and toss it, its not worth anything to sell.Install the removal kit to the carbs and adjust your idle. You are all set! Quote
fun_on_the_sand Posted March 21, 2006 Author Report Posted March 21, 2006 Thank you, that is a lot easier than what a had on mind. So basically just cut all the cables that won't be used any more. Quote
batoutofshell Posted March 21, 2006 Report Posted March 21, 2006 yes but you have to connect them to close the cricuits Quote
fun_on_the_sand Posted March 21, 2006 Author Report Posted March 21, 2006 Can you explain a little further and tell me what wire should I connect to what wire in order to close the circuits? Quote
thegroup Posted March 21, 2006 Report Posted March 21, 2006 the wires he is talking aobut it the ones where the old connector were. on mine, i just cleaned up the wiring by cutting the TORS completely out of the system. i just use the cylmer(sp) maunal and went from there Quote
batoutofshell Posted March 22, 2006 Report Posted March 22, 2006 each connection has 2 tires just cut them and wrap them together with some tape hence closing the circuit, think of it as turning on a switch its open when off and closed when on.the connections touch when on.don't touch when off. if the connections are left open they can't let current travel thru them. hope this helps!
