mattb348 Posted March 5, 2006 Report Posted March 5, 2006 I noticed that my other post about this sort of died out, and I forgot to mention a very important factor: my friend is using clamp on K&N filters. Anyways........ My friend has a 2001 banshee that he is fixing/decking out. He is going to get his head plained, cylinder bored .030 over, and he also is putting on fmf fatty pipes with turbine core 2 silencers. On top of that he has vforce reeds, and clamp on K&N filters with no airbox. Any ideas as where we should start with the jetting? Pilot & main. Thanks for any info! Quote
2003LimitedBanshee Posted March 5, 2006 Report Posted March 5, 2006 If you have a K&N filter clamp on flange adapter set up, and you should if you dont have filters that clamp directly to your carbs, with no lid on the air box. I'd suggest bout some 320 mains, clip in middle position, stock pilots and adjust your air screws, bout 1 to 1.5 turns out. This should be a good starting point, provided you have STOCK PORTING and STOCK CARBURETORS. Also pending your temperature outside and elevation. 481037[/snapback] From your other post..... He's pretty close here. The main might need to go to a 330. From past situations it seems that the FMF pipes don't like quite as big of a main as say T5's. But I also recall that they typically like a little bigger pilot. So you'd probably be real close at 320-330 on the main, 27.5 pilot around 1-1.5 turns, and stock needle probably on the 3rd (maybe 4th) clip. Quote

Dead Op Posted March 6, 2006 Report Posted March 6, 2006 I am at 1500 to 200o feet here inthe valley with the same mods plus +4 timing and i got the lid on 260 main stock pilot and 4th needle clip runs good i did the polug chops no sputtering hesitation at all! also i had her on the dyno last year and it was throwing out good hp for its mods Quote
