tithead Posted January 17, 2006 Report Posted January 17, 2006 iv got an old capstan winch sitting on my old seriesIII land rover. its doing nothing, never used.... only used to see if it works and it did when it was tried. am thinking of selling it. was wondering if any of you guys have heard of them? how much they are new? and how much do you think they would go for second hand? iv heard that the old ones are still worth alot of money.... the one i have will be a good 15 - 20 years old, works off the drive shaft of the car itself. ingage it buy putting the car in nuetral, shift the leaver next to the winch itself and then put the car in first gear..... link to there site.... capstan winch i know mine is old.... had a look on there website and saw that there new winches are now black...... mine is orange.
