akbill Posted December 19, 2005 Report Posted December 19, 2005 Ordered a new billet clutch basket from F.A.S.T. and am in the process of removing the drive gear off of my stock basket. I have used a grinder to take off the rivets/mushroom heads on the back side of the basket, but I cant punch the rivets out. Whats the trick to removing the gear off the stock basket?? Thanks Bill Quote
bansheefever1 Posted December 19, 2005 Report Posted December 19, 2005 Drill out the rivots..... Quote
Wallrat Posted December 19, 2005 Report Posted December 19, 2005 Yeah be careful that you didn't knick the gear when you were grinding. I'm not sure how balanced that thing is but you really don't want to introduce a source of vibration. I just used a punch to mark the center of the rivets and then drilled em out on a press using a bit slightly smaller than the rivet. They cracked and fell right out after that. Quote
