courville69 Posted November 24, 2005 Report Posted November 24, 2005 I was just wondering what you guys think about these pipes.I'm tearing the banshee down to get powder coated and will be going with different pipes(have fmf gold series)and i was wondering if the shearer pipes were any good or should i go with the t-5's?I will probably get a port job while i have it apart, but so far i have dual k&n's,ricky stator adjustable timing plate, tors removal kit,v-force 3's,and noss cool head on the way.All of the previous stated items are not installed yet,but will be after powder coat. Thanks for all replies, and if you have any advice about a good port job for dune dragging and messing around in the fields please let me know. sand rocket Posted November 24, 2005 Report Posted November 24, 2005 If your not draggin all the time i would say the t5s. Everything that i have read on shears is dragg there the sizzat. I had t5s on mine and mainly did duning and trail with the ocasinal sand drag and they did great. One mod that i would suggest that i didnt see in you post is a welded crank. I think that i should be done before anything else! Quote
Wallrat Posted November 24, 2005 Report Posted November 24, 2005 T-5's are somewhat similar to the FMF's your running now. Shearers are a total lightswitch pipe - tons of power but there's nothing before the powerband. For general riding I'd go T-5's all the way. Quote
wesw Posted November 24, 2005 Report Posted November 24, 2005 shearers best pipe out there. IMO IT depends on your port job. it can have a good powerband adn lowend. got some good dune cylinders built for a +4 stroker for sell. for sale section. Quote
Toomey Banshee Posted November 24, 2005 Report Posted November 24, 2005 CPI is another viable option for you. Great pipe, outstanding fit and finish and a bit more low end than Shearer. Quote

After riding my FMF's/stock porting I couldn't stand them. Sure there was tons of power on top, but it was too punchy and the lowend was almost non-existent. I think if you really like to drag then they're prolly a very good pipe but for my riding style, I was happy to get back on my FMF's. I've since changed to T-5's and I like those even more than the FMF's. Quote
wesw Posted November 24, 2005 Report Posted November 24, 2005 i know i have stock lowend or better with mine. probably my setup. i know rocketboy had similar experiences with shearers Quote
