420_Big_Bore Posted November 22, 2005 Report Posted November 22, 2005 (edited) I have a front a-arm lowering kit on my shee. Is this good or bad for drag racing? i am afetr maximum traction. Edited November 22, 2005 by 420_Big_Bore Quote
race-a-holic Posted November 22, 2005 Report Posted November 22, 2005 I don't see where this would matter as far as traction goes,if you still have stock shocks. There's different opinion as far as suspesion goes. Some like struts and some like drag shocks. What ever you decide, get the quad as light as you can.I'm doing this for next year.Drag a-arms,drag axle,etc...Making a bike lighter will help your e.t.'s.I've been beat by bikes that I knew I was making more h.p. than, but they had lighter suspension components, frame mods.,etc...Might want to consider this. 420_Big_Bore Posted April 11, 2006 Author Report Posted April 11, 2006 I am almost ready to go drag racing, after installing my new lock-up and drag pipes. I now have Pro Wedge 2's on a 8x8 rim, and a rear lowering strut (3 settings). I am just wondering which setting would be best? The highest, middle or lowest? Quote
blueshee03 Posted April 11, 2006 Report Posted April 11, 2006 i got mine lowered .i run 300ex shocks in front and stock shock in rear with lowering kit set in middle.i tried a strut in rear and lost to much traction and control.i also have the rear shock set on the softer side so it drops rear end a little easier.all surfaces are different so you have to find what works best for you.as for the weight of the shocks i tried struts on the front and back then on the rear only and ran better et's with the shocks on front and rear.my shee weighs in at 300 pounds with full tank and wheelie bar attached.
