after i installed the tempertature guage on the shee, i got readings of around 150(when riding hard) and about 125-130ish(when ideling around....my question is, is it getting the coolant that has already ran through the radiator, or coolant that has just come from the motor? its hooked to the 3/8 hose on the top right of the radiator. i figured the shee would run around 180 or so.

its getting the coolant out of the head before it get into the rad.

I would have thought that the gauge or sending unit for it would have to be installed in the larger coolant line (aprox 3/4 ) and not in a 3/8 line.

I am running 165 in the trail @60 outside temp.

If the trails are really tight so im moving slow it can climb to 200. Climbing big sand hills puts a lot of heat into it also.

One run up bull gap in MI. puts me at 195 from 165

I am still surprised that the banshee temp will climb so much at an idle even

with engine ice and a aluminum impeller

I am using a shindy lcd temp gauge in the line that comes out of the water pump

and I am using a 9 volt lithium smoke alarm battery to power it

200 sound hot to me. i use a infrared non contact thermometer and take the temp off the head. if its above 180 at WOT i go up a size bigger in the main.
