I didn't have much time to go riding this summer but I plan to this winter. I adjusted the needles because I live in Alaska and it's hella cold and now it idles really high. Do I need a smaller pilot jet and if so what size do you think I need? I have 230 main I think. Thanks

Just my .02$. If its 10 to 20 deg outside and you are running a toomey exhaust with no air box lid and 230 main jets in, you are lean. You may have it jetted pretty good in the midrange from lowerin the clip on your needle but sounds to me like you're lean on top. But that aint got nuthin to do with it ideling high. Check your carb slides and put some 330 mains in it and get an aftermarket air filter like a K&N or UNI foam set up. :headbang:

I would guess that you certainly do not have 230 mains, unless you haven't run it like that yet, because it wouldn't last long if at all with 230's and the Toomey's. So first check the mains, I would also guess that 320-330 would probably be close. If you have a high idle condition, that is a pretty much certain indication of a lean situation, and because your's is at idle that is on the pilot circuit. Given the air temp, elev etc. I would go with a 27.5 or maybe even a 30 pilot. I run a 27.5, when I ride at sea level, but it is usually 55-65 degrees, so you may be a 30 pilot.
