hamuel
A friend just got some used 28pwk keihins off flee bay. The carbs look like there in realy good shape. All but the slides they seem to show quiet abit of wear on them. and it seems to act as if theres a air leak but none on the boot or at the reeds. could this be cause by the wear on the slides? if so Would replacing the sildes fix the problem or are the carbs junk? BansheeGuy_IV
Quite simply... No... It's normal for slides to show some wear. I doubt they have anything to do with an "airleak" problem. You need to be more specific as to what the problem is. Are the RPM's not returning to idle quickly (Revving), Is the idle not smooth? Is the idle too high? It is most likely a jetting issue. Once you are a bit more specific on the problems... We can better direct the best way to approach it. BG
hamuel
put it quiet simply the sslides thems selfs have a lip iwhere they meet to bottom of the carb 2 ears. ANd it iwith the idles screws not touchiing the slides at all. this is with the cable removed.. yah it also idles kind of high with no idle screw so i figured it was the massive wear on the slides. any ideas?
