Layfield11 Posted November 3, 2005 Report Posted November 3, 2005 My friend has a 2005 stock banshee, and its running like shit, I had a problem and you guys helped me out with it a couple of months ago so i figure somone knows how to fix this prblem. But anyways like it wont get in the power band at all, its hard to start and it wont idle. We took the carbs off and cleaned them and made sure the floats and the needle wernt fucked up but we puit it back on and and its still screwin up, could the TORs or the parking brake be giving us problems. rjvoight Posted November 3, 2005 Report Posted November 3, 2005 Check the air filter, make sure you have good gas in the bike. Check the brake, make sure it is not hanging up on you. Check your choke lever, make sure it is working correctly, clicking into both positions freely, check your spark plugs, make sure one or both are not fouled. I have no experiance with the TORS going bad, but I have heard a lot of people say TORS can cause a lot of trouble....do a search on TORS to get more info on what kind of problems it can cause and how to disconnect it. I know these are just basics but everyone can forget. I dropped 45 bucks on my KX at a shop cause the darn thing died and would not start. I did everything I could think of.......except check the spark plug. guess what....spark plug. What an idiot!!! I've been around bikes riding and doing minor maintenace since I was 3! Good luck, there is nothing more frustrating than a bike that wont run right, especially a brand new bike. RJV Quote
stclark816 Posted November 3, 2005 Report Posted November 3, 2005 Make sure that little tube between the carbs that connects them together was put back on. Choke tube I suppose some people call it. Quote
sheefreak Posted November 3, 2005 Report Posted November 3, 2005 If you want to eliminate the TORS, just unplug the little black box underneath the gas tank, its a little more to the left side under tank. This will take TORS out of the equation. Quote
Layfield11 Posted November 3, 2005 Author Report Posted November 3, 2005 I looked last nite and all the crosss over tubes were tight were in place, but ill try this stuff tonite thanks for all the advice. Quote
BansheeBillyBob Posted November 3, 2005 Report Posted November 3, 2005 if they had that carbs apart doest it act funny if u have the float bowls switched ? that could be a suggestion Quote
