jerkybeef Posted October 5, 2005 Report Posted October 5, 2005 This is my first post, so please forgive. 96 370 long rod, mild porting, 18 domes ( 175 lb compresson), 5 deg. adv,fmf fattys, twin 34 keihin, twin k&ns, fuel is 50/50 and I want to set up for sea level and I love to drag. stock keihins are jetted with 48 ceg needles, clip in middle, 152 mains, and 55 pilot jets. I want to get the most out of the carbs for the mods i have. should i get the dynojet kits for 80.00 (choke, choke )or just replace the crappy needles? I appreciate you taking the time to help. jerky Quote
wesw Posted October 5, 2005 Report Posted October 5, 2005 with my pj 34s i had the best luck with DEK needles. my jetting from the dyno on my stroker was 68 pilot, 5th clip dek, 140 mains. i lowered the pilot to a 60 cause it would load up if not a full throttle. probably need to go up one size on the mains, will do later. im at 900 ft elevation. my guess you should be able to run 145 -150 mains for sea level. by the way the ceg needles made mine run like ass. i would call sudco.com and order 55 -62 pilots, dek needles, and 140 -155 mains then its test and tune or find a dyno with a sniffer. jerkybeef Posted October 6, 2005 Author Report Posted October 6, 2005 thanks for the info. cant wait to try it out. pilots might be a little rich but would take care of the off idle bog i have. it disappears if i turn air screw in all the way. I have a trip this weekend to an area with several dry lake beds. great place for plug chop.javascript:emoticon('') smilie Quote
