yammerhammer98 Posted October 4, 2005 Report Posted October 4, 2005 I recently bought a beat up '97 Banshee, and I am in the process of replacing everything I can afford. The swingarm and carrier bearing were destroyed by a previous owner's attempt to fabricate a chain adjustment system, so I replaced them with stock pieces. (I should post photos of the engineering marvel he came up with! I'm a lousy welder, but I could have done better with my eyes closed!) Since I'm a Banshee newbie, I need some suggestions. What is the best set up for chain guides, rollers and skid protection on a stock swingarm? I've looked at Cascade and T.M. Designs, but obviously I don't have a clue. Can chain adjusters from later years be added? Any ideas? Quote
sheefreak Posted October 4, 2005 Report Posted October 4, 2005 T.M., in my opinion, has the best chain guide a goin right now. I have found rollers to be rollers, and sorry I don't use skid protection. Quote
Ducman Posted October 4, 2005 Report Posted October 4, 2005 UPP chain slider is very nice, keeps most of the slack out of the chain and you can install it without removing the swingarm. UPP rear chain guide is pretty decent, TM's is fancier and has a replaceable wear pad. Rollers are probably all fairly similar. Quote
yammerhammer98 Posted October 4, 2005 Author Report Posted October 4, 2005 I had never seen the UPP products before. Not quite as nice as the T.M. Designworks stuff, but a lot cheaper. Magic Racing has the whole kit for $72 plus shipping (slider, guide and both rollers). Thanks for the lead, Ducman! Quote
sheecandy Posted October 4, 2005 Report Posted October 4, 2005 UPP stuff works good never had any probs with them Quote
2twin350s Posted October 4, 2005 Report Posted October 4, 2005 i am runnin upp stuff too.no complaints Quote
2003LimitedBanshee Posted October 4, 2005 Report Posted October 4, 2005 I use T.M. Designworks stuff on my bike. Running for a few months now, and no complaints what-so-ever, a little pricier than UPP stuff I've seen, but they have a two year replacement guarantee (supposedly unconditional), which seems like a smoking deal to me. scuba147 Posted October 5, 2005 Report Posted October 5, 2005 i also have TM design rollers and slider--going on 2 seasons and they are holding up really good Quote
