page454 Posted October 3, 2005 Report Posted October 3, 2005 I just rebuilt my 98 banshee and I'm having a clutch problem. It is adjusted right, but sometimes the clutch works and sometimes it doesn't. When I am higher in the powerband the clutch lever feels good and works fine, but under lower rpm's the handle has nothing there, similar to pulling a handle without the cable hooked up. Does anyone know what causes this, and what to look for? Quote
rruser350 Posted October 5, 2005 Report Posted October 5, 2005 (edited) Are you using stock clutch plates(metal plates) that have a tear-drop like shape with one side that gets smaller and has a small tab sticking out? If so, I know the Banshee service manual has a specific way to point the tab as you install the plates. I have no idea if this would cause your problem or not. Also check your springs, torque on the spring bolts and make sure the clutch pressure plate can move freely without getting wedged up. I don't know what you have tried already. If you find the problem make sure you post the fix. Edited October 5, 2005 by rruser350 Quote
