well ive determined that the bike was running rich, in 6th the bike was bogging out at max throttle. my plugs were marshmallow brown.. the plugs looked pretty good so i looked at the jetting faq and i determined that i was rich. i was at 310mains, no lid, 3.5 turns on the screw, stock pilots, and stock needle position. so i moved the needle up one notch towards the blunt end and took it around the block ...i couldnt find a bog. when i first started it was smoking like hell which made me think that i went the wrong way on the needle but after i took it around the block it feels nice. what should i do to make sure im not running too lean??

Moving the needle up a notch richens the midrange

Moving the clip up results in the needle sitting lower in the needle jet, therfore leaning the needle circult. Moving the clip down results in the needle sitting higher in the needle jet, therfore richining the needle circuit.

so i moved the needle up one notch towards the blunt end

Sounds to me like you leaned the needle (midrange) circuit. Id say to ride it a little more, get a feel for it and check your plugs. Tell us what all mods you have done to your bike so we can make an assumption. :)

Incorrect. Next time read carefully. Moving the NEEDLE (not the clip wise ass) up one notch richens the circuit. I can paint some hyroglyphics on the wall if you want. :P

I'd say draw... suzuki did say he moved the needle up one, but then he said towards the blunt end. So I think he meant that he moved the clip. I'd say both right, just different interpretation. But, suzuki, if you moved the clip up (needle down) as I suspect, you would have leaned the needle/mid circuit out. If that cleaned it out and does not bog anymore, I'd say you did the right thing, but do check your plugs. It does sound like you have a lot of turns on your air screws though...?

Wise ass? I've read "carefully" enough into the first post in this thread. Seems that I am more literate than you. How the hell else would you move the needle and get it to stay there without re-positioning the clip? Huh, wise ass? :yank:

Why dont you read this nice little article HERE. Wise ass.. sheesh.
