La 450 smoka Posted September 17, 2005 Report Posted September 17, 2005 (edited) Hello.I need some help.Well, first of all, I've got stock timing and compression and timing, dune porting, 340 dynojet mains, dynojet needles on 4th clip, stock jets besides that.Ive got a leaky crank seal on right side, smokes a bit.The problem is in the mid rpm range(about 4000 to 7000 rpm),and cuts out at all throttle positions in this range. It actually gets worse as I ride longer.I can dump the clutch from idle and it has plenty of power to take off here.I can then mash the gas from there and it will pull real good till about 4000 then cut out for a couple seconds and barely accelerate until it hits the powerband then takes off like a rocket. At wot the plugs look perfect. The results are the same at mid throttle or 3/4.Could it even be ignition?help Edited September 18, 2005 by La 450 smoka Quote
batoutofshell Posted September 18, 2005 Report Posted September 18, 2005 what kind of pipes do you have it still seems alittle rich to me.340 is a big jet for stock comp. and timing unless its cold where you live? Quote
La 450 smoka Posted September 18, 2005 Author Report Posted September 18, 2005 I live in louisiana and run pro circuit.I had a 310 and it got hot quick. And its a dynojet main, so I think its a bit leaner than it sounds. What about the main air screw? What does it do? Could it be lean? Quote

Im at a 320 main with pipes, air filter, the lid off. Yes, dynojet mains are a little smaller than other main jets. Ive got a leaky crank seal on right side I wouldent be rideing with something wrong like that. Fix the crank seal and you might mess with the needle clip positon. Quote
