Banshee~ Posted September 15, 2005 Report Posted September 15, 2005 The only wrench we have that will fit is a pipe wrench. I put my foot on the brake and my dad is pulling up on it trying to get it lose (only turning the lock nut). He is pulling so hard that the shock is compressing. What would you guys try, to get it lose? I need to get the axle bearings replaced, no later than this weekend . Quote
BansheeBoy17 Posted September 15, 2005 Report Posted September 15, 2005 Try some PB Blaster / Wd 40 , or try it with the quad up against something so it cannot move forward . ... Just my 2 cents. Are you trying to remove both at once? or one at a time? try one at a time. Quote

It was lose from the dealership, so we tightend the shit out of it and I think thats why the axle bearings went out What about one of those self locking axle nuts that nossmachine makes? Are those any good? Quote
Hilarious Posted September 15, 2005 Report Posted September 15, 2005 I dont know of any easy way to go about gettin those nuts off other that what I did. I broke down and bought that 50 mm wrench that is specifically made for takin those nuts off. And then beatin the crap outta it with a hammer. Quote

[email protected] Posted September 15, 2005 Report Posted September 15, 2005 i prefer to lock the back weel up by sticking a tool or anything thru the back break rotor and then jam it someware , lol not hte best way , but then put the rench on the lock bolt and smash it with hammer for about 10 minutes .. it came off for me took me a shit load of time adn was worth over it . Hilarious Posted September 15, 2005 Report Posted September 15, 2005 The wrench I have is made by motion pro. I believe that it states in the clymer's manual that it is 50mm. I know I read it somewheres. I think I paid about 30 bucks for it. It was pricy but it sure made the nut removal and installation much easier. Actually its a package with (2) wrenches in it and they each have a small hole in them made to fit a 1/2" drive socket wrench or torque wrench. Quote
badassbanshee479 Posted September 15, 2005 Report Posted September 15, 2005 when I changed mine to a round house carrier I ended up pulling the swing arm off, pulled the tires, and set it on the ground, I then took to big cresent wrenches and my dad stood on one end and I kicked the other one a couple of times till it came loose good luck.
