bansheefreestyler Posted September 11, 2005 Report Posted September 11, 2005 hey guys. well i called my mechanic and he said where my shift fork plug fell out underneath my sprocket that it could possibly be causing the problem. he said that the fork doesnt stay in place with the silicone in there but if there was a plug in there it would help. could that actually be a problem? he doesnt know if he has to rip it apart yet or not but i shall find out soon. but could the silicone really cause it to not stay in place and will the plug help? 2twin350s Posted September 11, 2005 Report Posted September 11, 2005 yep the shift forks not being in line will cuase your shifting problem.however there is no possible way that you will get that fork lined back up without splitting the cases. plus there might be pieces of metal in there too that will need to be removed.either way the cases have to be split.still should not cost more 1000 dollars in the worst case senario, and that would only cost that much if the cases and tranny are damaged beyond repair.thsoe plugs are pressed in to the case so silicone wont help you there. bansheefreestyler Posted September 11, 2005 Author Report Posted September 11, 2005 so he wont be able to get it back in line? and that silicone would have caused all my trouble then right? Quote
