Hey guys, just got my first Shee. It's actually my first ever 2-stroke quad, only have had 4-strokes before. It's got some mods done, Cool Head, Wiseco pistons, Boyeson reeds and dual K&N filters with Outerwears. I have no idea what is actually done to it, not sure if the carbs are stock or not, no idea what has been done internally. Got a smoking deal on the Shee from a buddy of mine so I just bought it. I'm more into cars than quads, actually work at a performance shop, so any newbie advice you guys can give me would be great. I put it on our dyno yesterday and it made 58 horsepower, I dunno if thats good or bad. It runs great, no problems with it. Ordered some Royal Purple 2-stroke oil for it along with a couple extra sets of spark plugs (NGK BR8ES). I need brake rotors and pads for it next. Any suggestions for a good quality, affordable set of rotors and pads? Also, how should I mix the gas and oil? What octane gas should I use? Have access to everything from 93-100 unleaded and 114-118 leaded. Thanks.

58 horses?? Something was definitely done to that Shee. They sure don't come with 58 HP. Find out what was done, sounds like someone put some work into it.

Any suggestions on the gas/oil mix I should use? Not sure how much to use. Also, what octane gas should I run? I've been pretty hard on it so far, just riding it around the shop, so I wanna make sure I give it the best possible maintenance. Thanks.

You have to check the compression. And perhaps the squish as well. Yo umay need to run race fuel if you're around 160 PSI, that's a pretty good bet there are some low CC domes in there. But the squish would be a better place to look. As far as Fuel:Oil ratio, whatever you feel comfy with. Also, it depends on the oil. I am not too familiar with Royal purple. I have heard of it, alot more with vehicles though. I mix my fuel at 40:1 with Klotz Super Techniplate. (synthetic). 40:1 has always been a good ratio in most any 2 stroke I have....

How do I check the squish? And what exactly is that? Sorry if thats a total newb question.

Also, how do you guys feel about Tusk brake pads and rotors? I need to redo my brakes and the Tusk stuff is in my price range. I'm not planning on racing it, just alot of joy riding around the shop and also some trail riding.
