kylechs04 Posted August 29, 2005 Report Posted August 29, 2005 My buddy just picked up a 94 shee needs a little carb/jetting work.. Dg pipes with stock silincers, boost bottle, k&n air filter with outerwear, but it also has the stock air box with the lid and the snorkle. Im thinking to just leave the lid off and clean the carbs and see what his jetting is like. You think it would be a problem to run it with the air box lid removed? And it will be running in the sand this weekend. Quote
wesw Posted August 29, 2005 Report Posted August 29, 2005 put the needle in the 4th clip and try some 320 mains. it depends on your elevation Quote
Z28ROC Posted August 30, 2005 Report Posted August 30, 2005 Many of us don't even have an air box. So running without a lid is just fine. As long as he has a good filter/ outerwear, and keeps it clean. Quote
kylechs04 Posted August 30, 2005 Author Report Posted August 30, 2005 Quad has an odd idle but calms down after a few seconds or so and sputters before the powerband and maybe a little at the top end. I cleaned carbs, checked compression it was right around 110 on each side. Needles are on the 3rd clip from the bottom, which i believe is the 4th. Air screws are at 3/4 turn out. He has 280 mains, i have some 320's im going to try possibly. im not sure what the elevation is... mid michigan ...... Quote
