hey guys i am new to the banshee community and just bought a banshee with what i beleive is a power valve motor. it has a head on it that says YPVS and cables going into the cylinder. i was wondering if there are any sites that i can run numbers on or any way to find out about this motor there is a 48h on the cylinder. i want to learn as much as i can about what i have. i was told the engine is a 1995 but dont know any help is greatly appreciated also is there somewhere else to look for numbers thanks Eric

 

 

 

by the way i love this site you guys have a lot of great help and i plan to redo my banshee over the winter with help from this site and some of my local shops

hey guys, i understand thebasic opperation of the 2 stroke engine and how that works but the powervalve is what i wanted more information on also the cables i was talking about go into the side of the cylinder i know what the plugs and wires are i work on cars thanks again Guys

im not quite sure what you mean by the wires going into the sides of the cylinder. maybe the wires that go into the magneto? once you get some pics that will be helpful.

hey guys sorry for the lack in posting i have been out for awhile anyway i found out that my motor is a 86 rz350 motor. i bought brand new toomey t-6 pipes and they dont fit so one of the guys down at east coast atv is taking care of it for me. apperntly everything that make the powervalves functional is gone and is not on the bike so i am thinking i should just buy a new original banshee motor what your thoughts. o and the guys at east coast atv are gonna try to make the powervalve stay open instead of closed :cry::P
