Thoughtshewas18 Posted August 17, 2005 Report Posted August 17, 2005 So I was about to fly up this hill and i was on a trial at the bottom and i was maybe in 3rd gear about to go up the hill until I hit this random root from a tree that was getting uncovered over time and it shoved me off the trail straight into a tree and now when my wheels are straight the handle bars are turned to the left. Not huge but very noticable! You can just twist it back like you would a bicycle right? If not im going to take it to a shop but I was just wondering if it would be a easy fix. I checked out the frame and stuff but only the tire/rim was nailed by it. Thers actually some wood shoved inbetween the tire and rim that I cant get out and a part of the tire is punchured but air hasnt got out yet lol. What do you guys think? Quote
bansheefreestyler Posted August 17, 2005 Report Posted August 17, 2005 i dont think that you will be able to fix it like you can on a bike. on a bike the stem is attatched to the steer tube and it is able to slide because it isnt welded on or anything. on a quad its not like that. i would think that your steering stem is bent. I did hear that from someone but then another buddy of mine thats big into MX told me different that its a easy fix but. I might as well just take it in then. Quote
bansheefreestyler Posted August 17, 2005 Report Posted August 17, 2005 well dont take my word man. that just what i would think would of heppned. wait for a few more replies and see what happens Quote
rebelbanshee2 Posted August 17, 2005 Report Posted August 17, 2005 very likely it is a bent tie rod. Its something you can do on your own, dont waste your money at a shop. Take the rod of and roll it on a flat surface to see if it is bent. if it is get a new one on ebay. In the end you will have in fixed for MANY times less than a dealer Quote
Thoughtshewas18 Posted August 18, 2005 Author Report Posted August 18, 2005 Thanks for the replies ! Im going to check that out myself then Quote
