Long Rod Todd Posted August 11, 2005 Report Posted August 11, 2005 Alright thanks in advance for the help. See my signature for mods. I finally had a chance to run the shee after assembly. I'm currently at sea level, running a 200 main, eek needle on the 4th clip from the top (blunt end). I have a 48 pilot with the air screw 1.75 turns out. This is my first time riding a ported banshee. Top end and midrange are excellent no bog or hesitation. The shee won't idle for more than a few seconds before dying. I can also start it hot or cold on the first kick without the choke. Also while cruising in any gear (up to 1/4 throttle) it seems to hesitate/sputter. When I go past 1/4 throttle the sputtering goes away. The plugs are blackened around the base of the porcelain and turn to a medium brown about half way up. I think I could probably lean the main jet down 1 size. But just wanted to get some input on what to do with the pilot jet. Should I try a smaller pilot jet? Quote
sredish Posted August 11, 2005 Report Posted August 11, 2005 1/4 throttle does not equal the main jet. it's more like the pilot / needle combo. Read the "Troubleshooting your Jetting" faq at the top and get back. Scott Quote
