trinityshee Posted June 27, 2005 Report Posted June 27, 2005 hi guys im new to this forum and to banshees and my ? is this i recently purchsed a 95 banshee. it has a trinnity big bore kit on it with a 2 into i carb and it has 192psi of compression. i got this and it had no spark so i bought a new box off ebay from a 2004. it has 5 wires and a 4 wire plug i can match the wires and i got a green with yellow left over ( parking brake wire) now the only way the bike will run is with that wire hooked to the black wire.. i un hook it and it trys to start but wont run . i was reading alot on here about timing . mine is set ot stock so i got a adjustable plate. u think i should set it at like 7 or 8 advance and run 104 octance ??? or u think it might be something else? fast500#12 Posted June 28, 2005 Report Posted June 28, 2005 make sure the tors box on the left side under the tank is disconected it will have three wires coming out of it. if its still there diconect it take it off and throw it in the trash. the green and yellow (park brake wires) will not effect the electircal if the tors is gone. as far as timing it all depends on what type of riding you wanna do if you wanna hill shot and drag go with +7 if you want to just dune and trail and play around go with +4. hope this helps. good luck. if you still have no joy do a search for unofficial hq eletirc faq, it will help tons Quote
trinityshee Posted June 28, 2005 Author Report Posted June 28, 2005 thanks for the info . i have alreaady removed the eniotre tors system and harness the only wireing this thing has is what it needs to run from the stator to the cdi box to the coil... like i said b4 thoguh it will only run but acts like it has a rev limiter with the green and yellow hooked up. if its un hooked it still sparks but will not run it only trys to start.
