Nightrider Posted June 18, 2005 Report Posted June 18, 2005 (edited) Went back to Hatfield Mccoy trails last weekend in Gilbert WV.Had a good time up until I rolled my banshee.Arguably the greatest trail system I've ever been on. Unfortunately the shee didn't make it through the weekend.Soaring temps and extemely high humidity nailed the koffin shut on my baby. The last time I rode it was in April-May.I recall the temps were very mild,60's or so.Shee was rippin back then, add 91 degrees and 80% humidity and shee ran like shit until nightfall came.I just could bring myself to rejetting her after I got there. To make a long story short the engine bogged down on a steep hard climb about 3/4 ways up and died.I bailed, she came crashing down on me and back flipped down the hill.It landed square on the steering head, pushing the frame back so far it buckled the tank plastics. It was the only damage that occured, but the frame is irrepairable. I bought her new.I have approximately 150 hrs on this machine and its the first time I've rolled it.I took care of it like it was the only thing in my life. I will be parting it out after the insurance company appraises the damage.Everything on this quad is tight,I never let a bushing or bearing get sloppy. The engine has a fresh top-end with less than 10 hrs on it. Other than some bolt ons(FMF pipe,Vforce reed,+4 timing,Proflow,Works,Namura PP,full skids, etc) its pretty much stock. If anyone is looking for anything specific, let me know, otherwise its all going on ebay. A 4 stroke will replace my banshee as my new "trail" machine.Looking at a Yfz450 or possibly the new Raptor 700R. I still have my other two,but that will be reserved for ass kicking sessions only.
