If your shee is jetted correctly, not too lean or rich, the plugs will last longer. Mine jetting is dialed and it seams that the plugs start to degrade, build up resistance, basically look good but start not running clean anymore at about 40 hrs or less. Thats about 40+ gallons of fuel, quite a bit of riding. Others claim that a set of plugs will last them a whole season of riding, but I haven't heard anyone that said that pin down exactly how many hours that is. I'm with RNBRAD, I think its better to change the plugs before you can actually tell they are going bad. I'm probably going to change mine every 10 - 20 hrs from here on out. I also think that a stock motor isn't as hard on plugs, I can't tell you why, just that seemed to be my experience.

I run irridium (BR8IEX) plugs in mine at 32:1 mix and I have never had a plug foul yet and I ride approximately 1000 miles or 120hrs+ a season and this is my second season, 2mounths in!

Its all in your jetting!
