thedoctorupton Posted June 10, 2005 Report Posted June 10, 2005 i heard you should purge a motor after running methanol through it. i am running a 28 to 1 ratio klotz super techniplate mix. will the cylinders rust if i dont protect them or is the oil enough? anyone have this problem? thanks. Quote

I know this cause everytime I go over to have him help me with the shee he steals some of my gas Quote
race-a-holic Posted June 10, 2005 Report Posted June 10, 2005 I use alcohol in my banshee.I mix the oil 40 to 1.You need to purge it the end of every day that you ride.I purge with 93 octane mixed with the same type of oil I use(Benoil).The easiest way I've found to purge the quad was to take a small funnel,put a hose over the end of the funnel.Hook it to the T in the fuel line.Run it for about 3 minutes.I also drain the gas tank at the end of the day too.I don't know if it's the oil breaking down or what,but if I have left over gas mixed with oil that has sit for awhile,I'll find stuff floating in the alcohol.Alot of stuff.
