sredish Posted May 27, 2005 Report Posted May 27, 2005 Going absolutely freaking nuts!!! I think my stator is screwed. I'm only getting like .3 volts AC from the two wires going into the coil. My local tech tells me it should be around 40 or 50. I cleaned the outer part with an emory cloth to ensure the surface is clean and it's nice and shiny, but still no voltage. My stator ohms out perfect. The pickup coil ohms out perfect. I couldn't get the coil to ohm out right, but I'm still messing with that. I double checked my grounds on the timing plate for the stator and the cdi. I disconnected the kill switch so it can't be the problem. I'm still not getting any volts from the stator. I'm waiting until sometime in the weekend to borrow txblueshee's stator and cdi box. I'm just needing to vent as it goes right over my wife's head. Quote
98bonerSTOCKshee Posted May 27, 2005 Report Posted May 27, 2005 you talking about the shee or the honda? Quote

bigboybanshee Posted May 28, 2005 Report Posted May 28, 2005 Damn Scott! That sucks! I take it you got her back together? Take a pic, post it up here....I'm anxious to see my T5's on there with that graydon 2-1 You'll get it fixed, this is just your banshee's way of telling you she missed ya Quote

Take a pic, post it up here....I'm anxious to see my T5's on there with that graydon 2-1 I got it together short of the plastic while I'm ironing out this problem. I'm meeting up with Mike/txblueshee today to borrow his cdi and stator hopefully. I think it's the stator, but I'm going to try the cdi also. I'm hoping this baby will runnn!! I don't have any rear tires. I have 10" rear rims (not the paddle rims) but no tires to fit and I don't want to buy 10" tires because I like 9" tires, so I'm stuck. I'll probably end up buying some .160 9" wheels and putting the iRazrs on them for the Banshee and then get me some Knarly rears for the Honda. The iRazrs seem to hook up really well with the Banshee's power. Here's a few pics in the meantime and I can't get my flash to work for some reason... Quote
bigboybanshee Posted May 28, 2005 Report Posted May 28, 2005 Hell yeah!! The pipes and intake flow nicely together in that last pic... I'm really glad to see you getting the banshee back in rotation, I'm having withdrawels from mine since I started this drag project When I'm done though, shee's gonna look totally different and my wallet will be empty once again Post back when you get her running; shee's looking good!! sredish Posted May 31, 2005 Author Report Posted May 31, 2005 Got Mike's stator on, got spark. She'll only start with 1/8 of the throttle open, and then, only the left side was firing. The right side seemed decent. I pulled the plugs and didn't see a huge cake of oil like I expected. Took the 52 pilot out and put in a 55. The left side started better (still with 1/8 throttle tho) and the right side was starting to fire some. Still won't idle on it's own power, which is weird, and I'm also confused as to why I'm having the trouble with one side and not the other so much seeing that it's a single carb. Anyways, it seemed to get better after the 55 pilot, so I think I'm gonna make the move to a 60 this afternoon and see what happens. I'm also gonna get about 6 plugs to have on hand as I need a new set. I had a new set in there but pulled them when it acted up, being unsure if they fouled or not. I have a 205 main and the EEK needle in the 3rd clip. I'll let you know what happens. Scott Quote

When I ran the T5's, they seemed to like a fat pilot. When I had the best starting/idling I was running a 30 pilot in the stock carb. Sounds like you're on the right track, when I switched to the PT's (from the T5's) I went down to a stock pilot and up one on the main. Weird huh? At least you have only one carb to jet, not two!!! Just for giggles, how do your reeds look? I managed to get a circle clip stuck in one reed when I was rejetting it and that caused only one cylinder to fire, simply because it was allowing too much fuel in the cylinder for it to run / idle on it's own....the reed petal was stuck open and wouldn't close. Just a thought Quote

And I sold the replacement pedals I had. Quote

If you need some, I have a brand new set of Boyeson dual stage reeds in the package, never opened that I'll sell you dirt cheap. LOL, I bought them, lost them, bought another set and then found these...they literally are collecting dust Quote

Just pulled them and checked them. Then threw a 60 pilot in and it's getting better, but still is not quite enough fuel. Dammit, this open pod filter is wanting the fuel. It's firing on both now and almost wants to idle, but stalls out barely. I'm off to check my jetting chart and think some for a few. Scott Quote
