i have an 00 banshee antd i hear people with other shees saying they have +4 advanced timming.. what does that mean..is it an easy mod, expensive?

Best bet would be to search...it's a ~35 dollar mod that advances the spark timing.

If you do this mod the spark timing is advanced 4 degrees or you can go a little more or less. It will raise the octane requirement slightly, but with stock compression, pump gas will work fine.

You can get a rickey stator adjustable timing plate for $35. You have to take flywheel off to install it which is real simple if you have access to an impact wrench and a flywheel puller (you can buy a puller for about $10 from rickey stator as well). There are other ways to do it as well. You can just buy a GYTR CDI for about $160 or so on e-bay and just plug it in for about +3 deg and a hotter spark. Do a search and your will find all kinds of details and instructions.

Ducman couldnt have said it any better! Very good mod to do especially for the $ might as well have your flywheel lightened when you take it off too. Well worth it!

the machinist puts it on a lathe and like a set of rotors he shaves off some metal and it gets lighter.. i know duh right.. then ya slap that baby back in there and it helps with quicker throttle response.. i dont know how much i didnt do mine when i did the timing plate. :bolt:

Yea, pm boonman. He did mine and quite a few of th bhq peeps on here. He's cheap, and will get it right back to you if he's still doing them.

Absolutely...

Boonman just did mine, and while you're at it...get his modded shift star.

Between the lightened flywheel, shiftstar and a Ricky Stator Timing plate, your shee will be much, much different. It will get "on the pipe" quicker and be much, much easier to trail ride.

He's a helluva guy to deal with for sure.

I'm gonna have him mill my cylinder head next....
