Currently Jetted for sea level, stock everything except the air filter. Going to corral canyon this weekend and wanted to know if I need to jet or not? 3000-4000ft, if I pass on jetting will a day of riding really mess things up?

Your supposed to change jetting every 1500 to 2000 feet, or roughly 30 to 35 degree of temp changes.

If you were close to that elevation, I'd say leave it.

However...you're not.

If you have an aftermarket filter, you could probably remove the airbox lid and be ok.

You must lean out your jetting for higher altitudes...so, essentially...getting more air in via no lid should be just about right.

Might have to turn out your air screws .25 to 1.0 turns.

BE WARNED...without the lid, the stock design air filter does not seal to the box.

Pro design makes a kit that bolts the air filter the box itself, or...if you're crafty, you can make something yourself....

He's right about the air filter. The stocker seals like crap. I'd get a Pro Flow or an intake adapter from our sponsor, NOSS Machine!

On the elevation change, can't remember. Had too many beers, honestly. Damn it's harder to type under the influence... There's a percentage, but just can't remember it. Worst case scenario, by going UP in elevation, your mixture will richen so, no chance of leaning it out and burning things up, just the chance of fouling a plug or two. You could probably go down a size for every 2,000 feet. Pulling the lid is a crude way to adjust, but it works sometimes.

Remember to check your plugs, especially if you pull the lid. Do a search for plug chop if you don't know how. You may not need to cut the threads in the plug chop, but at least pull the plug and look down in there at the porcelain.

Take the snorkel off and you would be very close, the lid might be to much. Your going to be rich as it is so it wont hurt it unless its way rich which your not.

Awesome guys, thanks for the replies. If it will be on the rich side then I wont worry about it... if I start fouling plugs then Ill just pull the lid and do a plug chop.

Thanks for the input.
