98flyguy Posted May 7, 2005 Report Posted May 7, 2005 should the bearings rotate freely on this lonestar bearing carrier. they should be just inside of the seals correct? i bought it used and they seem to not spin freely. also the hole isnt lined up well....the steel insert seems to be offcenter of the bearings. whats up with this thing. i dont wanna spend 110 on a bearing kit from lonestar. any help would be much appreciated. thanks Quote
BdBanshee Posted May 7, 2005 Report Posted May 7, 2005 (edited) When you slide the axle in the steel insert will center up. You don't have to buy the bearing kit from Lonestar, same as stock bearings. I bought a Lonestar swingarm off of Ebay, and when I got new bearings from Rocky Mountain ATV they fit perfect. Lonestar told me I had to buy the kit from them............ Edited May 7, 2005 by BdBanshee Quote
Lepew Posted May 7, 2005 Report Posted May 7, 2005 I just had that issue with a dual row Lonestar carrier. I bought it used then installed it. I could hardly turn the axle. I pulled the bearings regreased them then reinstalled them in the carrier with new seals. It turn freely after that. In my carrier the seals were pulled on the sealed bearings except for the outer facing sides. You should be able to get the bearings and seals from a local bearing supplier. Quote
98flyguy Posted May 7, 2005 Author Report Posted May 7, 2005 so are the seals factory size as well then? When you slide the axle in the steel insert will center up. Lepew Posted May 7, 2005 Report Posted May 7, 2005 Seals I used are TCM part# 44x62x8TC same seal as stock. If in doubt pull the bearings and seals and cross the Part #s. Quote
