First off, your motor will be junk if your running the stock filter without the lid on it.

After putting on the K&N (or any other suitable filter other then stock), you should be around 280-300 on the mains, you might need a 27.5 pilots (can only get that at a yamaha parts/dealer). If you don't already have it, get a clymer manual, great discription on how to sync your carbs and deal with the TORS if you still have it.

When it comes to needle position, just start in the middle and work from there. As you can see from this forum, jetting can be time consuming and frustrating. Do a search for BenBB's write-up on jetting, very excellent guide to tuning your banshee. Just make sure you sync your carbs each time you mess with anything, and only mess with one thing at a time to make it easier on yourself (I know that seems backwards, but changing to many variables at a time is like throwing darts). I found that the TORS was a pain in the arse, that was the first thing to go in the garbage. Let us know how it goes, any questions, someone will help.
