REV-I-DOO Posted April 25, 2005 Report Posted April 25, 2005 Not sure if Mobile 1 should be used for the gear case. I know some synthetics can be used if they have no additives.....but I don't know about Mobile 1. Anyone use it? Should I or shouldn't I? Quote
ledofthezep Posted April 25, 2005 Report Posted April 25, 2005 Not with your aftermarket barnett clutch, I wouldn't anyway. I run the same clutch with 80w BelRay Gear Saver On stock cork clutch, you'd be alright. Quote
holeshotkid Posted April 25, 2005 Report Posted April 25, 2005 (edited) I wouldn't run it. I believe it says "energy conserving" on the back of the bottle meaning it contains friction modifiers that will cause your clutch to slip. Mobile 1 5W50 doesn't contain friction modifiers but they dont make it anymore. Edited April 25, 2005 by holeshotkid Quote
Bansheeman1121 Posted April 26, 2005 Report Posted April 26, 2005 Im runnin amsoil synthetic 10w 40 and it seems ok Quote
RNBRAD Posted April 26, 2005 Report Posted April 26, 2005 I think all the lighter weight oils have the gas saving friction modifiers with moly. I use the 15w-50 mobil 1 racing oil in my tranny which is void of all the gas saving garbage. I've used it in my banshee since break in as well as my crotch rocket, never a problem. Quote
fixitrod Posted April 26, 2005 Report Posted April 26, 2005 I don't think castrol gtx has friction modifiers. It should say on the back of the bottle. Quote
