ride_or_die Posted April 15, 2005 Report Posted April 15, 2005 Ive done searches and read up on my question, and think im ready to jet, but just want to ask for my setup I recently bought a Trinity 2-1 Carb setup with a PJ 34mm, It came with a 170 main and a 68? pilot. I think this will be lean?? I am currently running with my airbox and lid with a K&N filter, Boyseen reeds,Trinity ported/pollished cylinders Stage 3, Cool head w/ 21cc, and Pro Circuit pipes and silencers I ride at about 700? elevation and 75 degrees Hopefully some one could give me a ball park figure so I can order some jets. I know it can't be guessed properly I just want some opinions. Thanks Alot Im new to HQ so hopefully I posted this right!! Quote
theeechozen1 Posted April 15, 2005 Report Posted April 15, 2005 What needle did your carb come with?? I would start with a 58 pilot and a 230 main, work down from there Trinity will recomend a DEK needle, 3rd clip down....mine runs great with this needle, but Sredish on here recommends a EEK needle (smaller taper=more feul) he said this made his run alot better and let him drop the main jet down a few sizes I am still waiting for my needle to show up to see if it helps on mine. I am at 4500' and it's dialed in with a 225 main Quote
FIRST BANSHEE Posted April 16, 2005 Report Posted April 16, 2005 if your running with your lid on, i'd drop the pilot down to 55 to start, and bump the main up to 195-205, needle in the middle. Quote
ride_or_die Posted April 16, 2005 Author Report Posted April 16, 2005 Thanks guys for the opinions! I'll try and find out which needle it is tonight. Anyone else have some suggestions? Quote
Wallynut Posted April 17, 2005 Report Posted April 17, 2005 On my 33pwk, I'm running 180main, 45pilot (i think), and needle is 2nd from the top. I'm between 50-900' in elevation, lid on K&N filter, FMF pipes. When first jetting mine, I had a rough time, kept changing mains with no good results. It wasn't till I got the needle in a better spot that I could even get mains figured out(couldn't even get her opened up to do a plug chop). Sounds assbackwards, but the truth. Ended up using the main that came with the kit. You'll like this setup if you do woods riding Quote
Banshee17Racing Posted April 17, 2005 Report Posted April 17, 2005 I've got damn close to your same set up. T-5's, 2-1 intake w/34 mm PJ, V-force 2's, Noss head, open K&N, a Gorr port, and I'm at 800 ft. To be honest, the port didn't change jetting a whole lot. Before the port I'm pretty sure I was at a 175 main, 58 pilot and the needle was on the 2nd clip from the blunt end. Quote
dave95.1 Posted April 17, 2005 Report Posted April 17, 2005 I'm at a 180 main and 48 pilot with pt mids, k&n filter, no lid, stock port. I really fought with mine until I tried the EEK needle. I was up to a 220 main and still couldn't get any color on my plug at wot. Now with the EEK needle I'm perfect at 180. Later Quote
theeechozen1 Posted April 21, 2005 Report Posted April 21, 2005 I just got my EEK needle today! I will do some more tuning this weekend and let you guys know how it turns out. Dave...Would your bike rev out at all with your old needle (DEK I assume)?? Quote
ride_or_die Posted April 21, 2005 Author Report Posted April 21, 2005 Thanks for the advice guys! I have the jets and needle on order, will let you know how it goes! Quote

Dave...Would your bike rev out at all with your old needle (DEK I assume)?? 358394[/snapback] It was a DEK and it would run great with a 220 main as long as I was WOT. It would foul plugs in 10 minutes if I wasn't on the throttle hard and the bottom to mid range bogged pretty bad. Once I went to the EEK and down on the main it made a world of difference on the bottom and mid and quit fowling plugs, but still runs the same up top. Quote

It's hard to keep the front end down in the lower revs but the power is falling off too soon. I am going to try the needle and some work on the mains this weekend, and explore the idea that my carb's (38mm airstryker) bowl is running out of petro in the high revs. if either of these dont get it reving to where I like it... I will prolly switch back to twin 28's or something Quote

If it doesn't work out, I have a set of 28 keihn bored to 30mm I might trade you if you're interested. Quote

ride_or_die Posted April 23, 2005 Author Report Posted April 23, 2005 (edited) I was wondering what people are using for a thumb throttle cbale for the single PJ 34. I looked at a stock blaster cable and think the carb end is too big. Does anyone know the part number for a blaster thumb throttle cable without TORS?? Edited April 24, 2005 by ride_or_die Quote
