I've learned enough from reading this forum (thanks guys) to install a new clutch in my banshee. You guys know your shizit about these Banshee's.

I followed the Clymers book. But I still have a few questions regarding the adjustment. The clutch install is completed. I've adjusted the clutch as recomended. I haven't put the cover back on yet.

When I pull in the clutch I see the presure plate moving in & out. When I put the bike in gear and pull in the clutch. The clutch doesn't disengage from the gears. Meaning that the bike won't roll with the the clutch pulled in. It's still in gear. I don't think thats right. I hope Im making myself clear.

Thanks for any help

do not try to judge if your clutch is adjusted right by trying to roll the bike in gear with the engine off and clutch pulled in. do what the clymer says and it will be perfect. If you adjust it by putting it in gear while the engine is off and trying to roll the bike, it will be way out of adjustment. just for reference, the clutch does not disengage any gears when you pull it in. It only seperates crank rpms from the tranny, so the engine can maintain rpms and not put power to the transmission.

Yeah, if your crank is turning when you roll the bike in gear with the clutch pulled in it is probably because you didn't soak you fibers in oil long enough before installing.

If you adjusted it by the book, it will be ok once you run it.
